We are currently seeking an Electrical Technician to join our Maintenance team located at Charmhaven on the Central Coast of NSW.

The Role

Working on state-of-the-art equipment, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and completing process improvement and installation projects ensuring technical requirements and specifications are being adhered to. On-going breakdown support and general electrical work will also be required.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be a qualified and experienced electrician
  • Have a good knowledge of AS3000 and be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge in all facets of electrical work and a firm commitment to safe work practice
  • Have the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and PLC I/O drawings
  • Have experience with fault-finding on industrial control systems
  • Be competent with three-phase systems, motors, motor starters, VFDs, and protection devices
  • Have strong understanding of electrical safety and LOTO
  • Have the ability to diagnose and replace sensors, relays, contactors, actuators
  • Have basic knowledge of industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, DeviceNet, etc.)
     

The following skills/experience are not essential but will be highly regarded in the selection process:

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley / Siemens PLCs (reading ladder, basic troubleshooting)
  • Ability to fault-find using Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 / RSLogix and Siemens TIA / Simatic Manager for monitoring and basic editing
  • Understanding of SCADA / HMI systems, specifically Cimplicity and Wonderware System Platform
  • Familiar with VSDs, soft starters, servo drives, motion control
  • Basic understanding of PID loops and instrumentation
  • Experience with safety circuits (E-stops, light curtains, interlocks, PLe/SIL)

This is a full-time permanent position. To be successful in this role you must be self-motivated and be willing to put in the work needed to complete jobs in a timely manner. Attention to detail and highest quality workmanship are paramount.

As part of the selection process, applicants must be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical examination which includes functional, audiometric and drug and alcohol testing.
