About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team based at our Somersby, NSW manufacturing facility.

This role will provide mechanical engineering support across the scoping, design, installation and commissioning of engineering projects involving production processing machinery. You will be responsible for:

  • Designing mechanical equipment, machinery, components, plant and systems
  • Providing engineering input into the installation, assembly, maintenance and commissioning of machinery
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, materials and equipment
  • Coordinating project labour, materials, plant and equipment
  • Liaising with management, contractors, consultants, suppliers and production teams
  • Investigating and assisting with engineering and technical issues
  • Preparing project plans addressing safety, quality and environmental requirements
  • Monitoring project risks, costs, progress and resource requirements
  • Supporting continuous improvement and efficient use of people and equipment
  • Participating in risk assessments, hazard identification and toolbox meetings
  • Maintaining high standards of workplace health and safety, quality and housekeeping

This is a full-time position, with a compressed working week of Monday to Thursday (6:00am-4:00pm). Salary for this position will be not less than $79,499 per annum.

About you

To be considered for this position you will have: 

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or other related engineering degree
  • At least two years’ engineering experience
  • Experience supporting projects involving the installation of production processing machinery
  • Strong technical, analytical, numerical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong coordination, leadership and problem-solving skills
  • A practical, organised and solutions-focused approach
  • A commitment to workplace health and safety

As part of the selection process, applicants must be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical examination which includes functional, audiometric, drug and alcohol testing.
